Adding test case management to Jira

Jira’s functionality can be extended into test case management by the utilization of popular marketplace apps such as Xray or Zephyr.

Test case management applications allow Jira users to automate many different types of software testing, including the following:

Use tests
Integration tests
Functional tests
Acceptance tests
Performance tests

In this example, we will add the Xray test case management app to Jira.

Getting ready

As indicated in previous chapters, marketplace applications can be installed by product admins. You need to be a Jira product admin to carry out this recipe.

What is Xray?

Xray for Jira is a comprehensive test case management tool that integrates seamlessly with Jira. Xray extends Jira’s capabilities, allowing teams to manage their entire testing life cycle directly within the Jira environment.
