Once you have created and configured the vDS and its dvPortGroup, then one of the next steps is to migrate the virtual machine network from vSS to vDS. This is done by changing the network label (port group) that's used by the vNICs to the desired dvPortGroup. Although this can be done using various UI methods, the most intuitive and user-friendly method is to use the Migrate VMs to Another Network wizard as it allows you to selectively orchestrate this process for a large number of VMs across hosts.
