Summary
In this chapter, we learned how we can automatically create a business process flowchart diagram from an Excel table. We have also learned how to update the Excel table from the Visio diagram and add more information to each process flowchart shape. Additionally, we also learned how to package combined Visio and Excel templates for others to use.
In practice, many organizations already have tables of steps for different processes. The Data Visualizer feature of Visio provides an opportunity to visualize these steps and often results in better understanding and analysis.
In the next chapter, we will learn some useful techniques for augmenting our process diagrams and some more efficient working practices.
