Cracking the coding interview
We know how the world spins around – some people are great in interviews. They are great at preparing for tests, and they are strong interviewees. We know them from school or college, and they always get good grades. But theory doesn’t necessarily indicate success when it comes to practical tasks.
That’s why sometimes we have another stage in the process: the coding interview.
The coding interview goal is to see how we handle real-life situations as closely as possible. In these tests, the results are not always what’s critical – the interviewer wants to see how we think, plan, write, and respond to changes and dilemmas.
Even though a coding interview can last 15-20 minutes, it can also be a home assessment that takes one or two days to complete. It sounds like a considerable effort not only from our side but also from the interviewer’s side!
