A ServiceNow instance is independent. Making changes to one instance will not affect another. But since every customer has multiple instances, how should you move your carefully developed and tested scripts between them? Obviously, you wouldn't want to repeat the configuration over and over again, and copying and pasting is time consuming and fraught with mistakes.
