Summary
In this chapter, we learned how to overcome the execution challenges at the program level. We began by looking at the command center for execution, the program room. We then learned about the dependency workflow and how to handle external dependencies and use dependency maps. Lastly, we explored ways to reduce unnecessary work, manage scope, and communicate PI and release progress.
In the next chapter, we will discuss common portfolio-level challenges, how lean portfolio management (LPM) shifts the mindset from project to product, and what it takes to connect business strategy with execution for organizational alignment.
