Ripple provides you with a test network to help you to test the application without using real funds. Let's go ahead and create a test net account and load it with enough XRP. This XRP doesn't have any value, and it can be only used for testing purposes. In order to create a test net account, navigate to https://developers.ripple.com/xrp-test-net-faucet.html.
You'll see a screen similar to the one shown in the following screenshot:
Click on Generate credentials, and your Ripple address and secret will be generated. Your account will also be loaded with a balance of 10,000 XRP. The addresses on the right side of the screenshot are the ones we'll be using to interface with the test network. Make sure you save the Ripple address and the secret; we'll be using it to develop applications.
