In this chapter, we took a look at the database behind your Dynamics NAV application. How are the tables organized, how can you create an ER model to be able to create and develop reports more quickly?

Reporting Servicescomes free with any SQL Server license and was used to integrate RDLC reporting into the Role tailored client. In the next versions of Dynamics NAV I expect to see a lot more of reporting services incorporated into the role tailored client. That's why I believe it is very important to start learning about this technology right now.
All companies use Microsoft Office Excel. I have never had a customer who has not used it. Understanding how you can use Excel in combination with Dynamics NAV is very important, and this chapter provided you a good overview of what's possible in that area.
