A wireframing introduction and tools
Let's address the elephant in the room. Why would you want to create wireframes for UIs when creating the final UI in Appian is so quick and easy? It doesn't really need to be done; however, let's talk about what wireframes are and their pros and cons.
There are many specialized wireframing tools on the market. Most of them are made for more demanding tasks such as websites or magazines. We will focus on creating business applications using low-code in Appian. This limits the possibilities for visual design. Therefore, we can also use a simpler tool for wireframing. I use the already-introduced free software diagrams.net (https://diagrams.net).
Wireframes are also a great tool for sketching UIs collaboratively on a whiteboard or paper. You can also prepare them using software and get them printed out in a large format. In the workshop, you can then use Post-its and markers for refinement.
