Decisions
In general, decisions are the results of the rules and policies made as part of your day-to-day business operations. In decision automation, the goal is to provide a system where those rules and policies can be modeled, managed, executed, and monitored. Within IBM CP4BA, we have two related decision management platforms targeting different experiences – IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) and IBM Automation Decision Services (ADS). While both systems can be used for decision management, IBM ODM is more focused on enterprise-wide rules management and is more geared toward developers. On the other hand, IBM ADS is designed from the beginning to support a low-code/no-code experience to build enterprise decisions and is part of Business Automation Studio. In this book, we will focus more on IBM ADS.
