Portal operational model and workload analysis
The workload analysis against the operational model allows a performance architect to define a maturity model for the lifecycle of a capacity planning effort. First, the volumetric of business transactions, applications, users, and network are determined via both nonfunctional requirements combined with the understanding of existing system and current state user and system metrics. Along with that, the projected usage patterns and growth rate can also be documented and used to feed the capacity planning and management effort. Once documented, a chosen methodology tool or approach can be used to look at the physical topologies and target workloads, and create models to represent that. Once the model is created, it can be populated with the business functions and projected transactional volumetric to be calibrated later with real performance test results or cloud monitoring results.
Normally, once a model is populated, it can then be calibrated...
