Summary

In this chapter, we saw some of the advanced AWS services, such as Cloud9 and Alexa. We saw how Cloud9 can be used to spin up a development environment on demand, and how the IDE can be used to develop and deploy Lambda functions. We also saw the basics of Alexa and how we can create a sample custom skill. Alexa skill design is a vast topic and an exhaustive study of its official developer guide is recommended. This was meant as a primer to get started with some of the advanced AWS services. The field of Serverless architectures sees innovations and improvements at a breakneck speed. Readers who have read this far are recommended to subscribe to the official announcements of the cloud providers and the frameworks to keep up to date with the developments.
