Next steps with SQL Server

As the new SQL Server 2019 is being introduced by the time of the writing of this book, there are numerous new features that have links to the data science domain too. One of them is the availability of the big data clusters. Big data is a huge phenomenon, and SQL Server entered this world with the version of SQL Server 2016 and its PolyBase feature, which we have discussed in the previous chapters. The new version of SQL Server will allow you to access not only HDFS filesystem but also other external data stored in SQL Server - Oracle, Teradata, and MongoDB, expanding the reach of the SQL Server to other DMBS systems and big data storage systems.
