New features in 2023.2

During the course of writing this book, a lot has changed, especially in the UI. I used build #PY-231.8109.197, or as I like to call it, the fightin’ 197th. I kept the same release in play for the entire time, neglecting to install any updates because I wanted things to be consistent. Right about the time I started working on Chapter 13, JetBrains held an online event revealing a new point release, 2023.2. The new release is packed with new features, but today as I write Chapter 16 (this chapter), two more point releases have come out. This pace is probably due in large part to JetBrain’s re-vamp of the UI. If you remember at the beginning of the book, we had to turn the “new UI” on in the settings. By the time you read this, the new UI will be the default. JetBrains didn’t stop there. The UI has always been highly configurable, and we covered that thoroughly in the early chapters of this book.
