Summary
In this chapter, we looked at how to establish a Center of Excellence for cloud cost management. Building a FinOps team and hiring and training the right resources are key to its success. Cloud costs are a very vast and dynamic field and new features are constantly being added. A centralized FinOps team is well suited to tackle the challenges of cost optimization and savings. Once processes are established by the CoE, the FinOps team uses automation to handle tag inheritance, automated VM shutdown schedules and automated budget actions to remediate over-budget resources.
