Summary
In this chapter, we learned that enterprises aspiring for greater agility need to move from an organization structure focused on hierarchy-based decision-making, command and control and optimization of silos and activities to a structure that is aligned to delivering business outcomes in the most effective and efficient way. A flexible and lean structure that empowers and enables the teams to sense, respond and adapt to change will significantly aid in increasing agility.
The next chapter is about the second component of the enterprise, namely, process, and will cover the significance of process, and how to leverage process for enhancing enterprise agility.
