Measuring Program Efficiency

Strategic monitoring of the detection engineering program supports individual contributors and leaders to bolster their accomplishments as a team unit. Monitoring daily operations is important, but how do we examine long-term trends and ensure we are on the right path between quarters and years? Doing so requires taking a step back to examine what data points best represent the state of the team.

This chapter focuses on identifying and sourcing data that can be used to establish what level of program maturity the team is functioning at. We also need to know what actions to take when interpreting metrics over time to improve the team. Finally, we will establish how to represent these data points and collect them into meaningful visualizations for leadership to analyze.
