In this chapter, we discussed various hands-on activities related to setting up LANs, Wi-Fi LANs, heterogeneous LANs, and the internet. Specifically, we discussed these hands-on activities related to real-time scenarios, which involved setting up networks in labs, workspaces, and hot spots, as well as how to extend existing networks. In a wireless network topology setup, you were introduced to using the ns-3 placement and mobility model for real-time wireless network scenarios. We also demonstrated important details to be visualized during wireless network simulations using NetAnimator.
These activities help you in setting up a variety of network topologies and evaluating them in terms of network connectivity, link speed, and testing a variety of ns-3 network applications over the simulation networks.
