Creating a New SharePoint Portal
We will now create a new SharePoint portal in the virtual server we just set up.
1. Start SharePoint Central Administration by pointing to Start | All Programs | SharePoint Portal Server | SharePoint Central Administration.
2. Under the section Portal Site and Virtual Server Configuration, click the Create a portal site link.
3. On the Create Portal Site for [machine name] page, enter the following information:
Portal Creation Options: Create a portal
Site Name: Tropical Green Portal
Site URL:
Virtual Server: portal.tropicalgreen.net
Owner:
Account name: MCMSBOOK\Administrator
E-mail address:
<administrator@foo.com>
4. On the final confirmation page, click OK to create your portal.
