Setting up authentication in Azure Key Vault
Azure Key Vault’s authentication is carried out in collaboration with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), which is accountable for verifying the identity of a security principal. A security principal refers to an entity, such as a user, group, service, or application that seeks permission to access Azure resources. Each security principal is assigned a distinct object ID by Azure. An individual with a profile in Azure AD is recognized as a user security principal. On the other hand, a group security principal is used to identify a collection of users that are established in Azure AD. When roles or permissions are assigned to the group, all members within the group receive them.
