Chapter 5. Understanding Wikis, Dynamic Data Lists, and Polls

On the intranet website bookpub.com of the enterprise Palm Tree Publications, it would be useful to keep track of information about editorial guidance and other resources that require frequent editing, for example, to keep track of votes on the topic "Is this book on Liferay a proper book?" and to collect suggestions on subjects such as "Liferay books". A wiki is a social collaborative encyclopedia that allows users to come together and share knowledge in an area. Administrators can add and edit wiki pages, change permissions, and set advanced options. The Wiki portlets provide a straightforward wiki solution, while the Polls portlets provide surveys to assess public opinion. Also, we are going to see a new feature of Liferay 6.2, "Recycle Bin".

This chapter is going to introduce you to wikis, Dynamic Data Lists, and the Polls portlet and show how to configure them and implement requirements...
