What is the WordPress Pattern Directory?
The WordPress Pattern Directory, often referred to as the Block Pattern Directory, can be found at https://wordpress.org/patterns/. This is an incredible resource for anyone looking to not only save time by using patterns, but also find that perfect fit visually.
The Directory went live in July 2021 as part of the WordPress 5.8 release, with a smaller set of community-created patterns that are shown by default. Should you want to see all the patterns you can do so by changing the dropdown on the main toolbar of the Pattern Directory from Curated to Community. Since its launch, it has grown to hold a wide range of patterns to enable you to find literally whatever you want.
Once you go to the Pattern Directory, you are welcomed with a range of options as you can see in Figure 7.1.
