Mastery learning
Many organizations require learners to show that they have achieved mastery, which means they have achieved the minimum passing score (usually 80 percent) in knowledge and skills associated with the course outcomes. This is particularly important in the case of training and regulatory compliance.
Moodle allows you to develop a question bank that is specific to the statutes, standards, or codes for regulatory compliance. Be sure to plan the sequence (storyboard) and also to provide responses that refer to the correct answers in the text. The following steps are important to follow when you're applying mastery learning:
- Clearly state the grade or score that must be earned.
- Allow students to repeat the questions or the quiz if they failed until the qualifying score or grade is earned.
- Incorporate the regulations as a link, file, or embedded player.
