How do I buy and download an eBook?

Where there is an eBook version of a title available, you can buy it from the book details for that title. Add either the standalone eBook or the eBook and print book bundle to your shopping cart. Your eBook will show in your cart as a product on its own. After completing checkout and payment in the normal way, you will receive your receipt on the screen containing a link to a personalised PDF download file. This link will remain active for 30 days. You can download backup copies of the file by logging in to your account at any time.

If you already have Adobe reader installed, then clicking on the link will download and open the PDF file directly. If you don't, then save the PDF file on your machine and download the Reader to view it.

I was (am) really surprised with this book because not only lays out the basics of a mobile app but ensures the reader gets the whole scope of a complete one, making sure one uses the right tools, from the IDE (Aptana) which also was a nice surprise (I used it around 4 years ago) to the Android Developer Tools and Apache Cordova and even NodeJs. Of course this book is intended for a seasoned developer (which I'm not) or at least someone (like myself) familiar with the technologies / frameworks mentioned, and / or in the process of creating or learning to create an app.

Loved it! jQuery is used by millions of websites to to write javascript that would take many lines of code to produce without this terrific library. jQuery mobile does the same and more for mobile development. Mastering jQuery Mobile walks readers through projects that can be used on iOS, Android, and more.

I have been learning jquery mobile for the past few weeks using online tutorials. I found most of them confusing because they assume I already know a lot of the basics of how jquery mobile works. I decided to order this book hoping it would take me step by step from the beginning. I received the book a few days ago and have been following along chapter by chapter and I have not been disappointed yet. It provides me a lot of information about the ideas and concepts around jquery mobile which makes a BIG difference. I feel like I am finally starting to get the full concept of how jquery mobile works. I'm only half way through the book and loving it! I would recommend this book to anyone that is just started learning jquery mobile or that has been using it for some time and is looking to get a good idea of how the foundation of jquery mobile works.

This book offers an advanced guide to developing with jQuery Mobile, using the latest versions of the jQuery Mobile and jQuery libraries. The book presents real world examples and assumes some knowledge of CSS3, HTML5 and Javascript (jQuery). Examples are given for both multi-page and single-page templates. There is also an excellent guide to creating web apps with Cordova, both for iOS and Android. It's a good source of reference for responsive layout design with JQM (works fine with desktops too). Also welcome is the coverage of HTML5 features using modernizr and Wurfl for device detection. The data examples are PHP-centric, but are clearly written and easy to understand. More advanced is the discussion of getting jQuery Mobile to play nicely with Node.js, Express and Jade templates. The book also offers a very useful discussion on 'best practice' in mobile design and delivery. The examples provided are managed using Aptana studio, but this isn't required and the complete source code is available for download anyway. All in all the book offers an extensive coverage of the practical possibilities of JQM and one I'd highly recommend.
