Automating the predictive mechanism

At the beginning of the chapter, we mentioned that we would discuss how to automate the predictive mechanism in MicroStrategy 10. I decided to put this section at the end because it is too simple. You may have already guessed the answer; yes, once you have built your report, automation is a piece of cake: you simply subscribe to your dynamic report.

For example, you can subscribe to the Telco Churn Analysis report, and tell the report to run at the beginning of every month. Then, every month, MicroStrategy will apply the predictive model to the current database, and produce a list of customers most likely to churn.

Nevertheless, the report must be dynamic; that is, it should not be set to use a fixed and stationary set of data and always produce identical results, instead, it should be set to allow newly available data, and produce new results when the underlying dataset refreshes.
