Adding a Manga effect


One of the effects we will start exploring is the Manga effect. Manga refers to a style of cartoons that originated in Japan. This style of drawings is done using a pen or black and white ink and the main attribute is the use of clean lines. This recipe will help you see some possible settings' combinations to produce different results that can later be used in conjunction with other effects.

Getting ready

To use this recipe, you may want to remove some effects such as DOF that will cause weird artifacts when you apply the Manga effect.

How to do it…

To apply this Manga effect and give a cartoon effect to your scene, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to the Movie or Photo mode and add a new effect. For this, you need to click on the New effect button, which you can find at the top-left corner of the screen.

  2. From the Artistic tab, select the Manga effect.

  3. On the viewport, you can see that with this effect you obtain a more cartoonish scene with enjoyable colors. You can use the...
