Chapter 6. Finding and Creating New Noises
In LMMS, we are provided with a lot of samples, which we can use freely in our projects and songs. The My Samples area in the side bar is a great resource of samples to get our project started. When we start reaching for the next level, however, we should start mining for new sounds and textures from resources like royalty-free sounds found on the Internet, old recordings, and sounds we find around us in the real world.
In this chapter, we'll explore:
- How to define sampling
- How samples are made
- How to find locations for saving samples
- How to find folders of the previously recorded samples
- How to record sounds in the real world and import them into LMMS
- The audio file player in LMMS
