Summary

In this short chapter, we started by exploring the process of configuring user access and permissions by seamlessly integrating Jenkins with Azure AD. Additionally, we delved into the essential concept of credentials within Jenkins by creating and managing them throughout this chapter. To ensure enhanced security, we acquired knowledge on safeguarding credentials within the values.yaml file by leveraging Kubernetes secrets. These topics collectively constituted the comprehensive security aspect that was covered in this chapter.

Moving forward, in the next chapter, our focus will be on extending the functionalities of Jenkins, wherein we will embark on setting up SonarQube and Artifactory through the utilization of a Helm chart, accompanied by an Nginx Ingress controller and a public IP for each service. Subsequently, we’ll explore the necessary configurations within Jenkins to seamlessly integrate it with SonarQube, Artifactory, and GitHub.
