Creating a chair in the form environment
In this chapter, we will create a floor gaming chair such as the one shown in Figure 13.1. The reason for creating the chair in the Form environment is that for a shape like this, it is much easier to create it using forms rather than trying to build it using a parametric model. For the interior framework in the next area we will use parametric modeling, since the interior framework is a more rigid structure, which parametric modeling is ideal for.

Let’s start by opening the Data panel, creating a new folder named Ch13 Gaming Chair
in the PACKT pub project
folder, and saving the file as Gaming Chair
. Set the units of the drawing to inches:
- Go to the CREATE panel and click on the Form button. Then, go to the CREATE drop-down arrow and click on the YZ plane.
