TMS master data elements and its concept
Similar to SAP CRM and SAP APO, SAP TMS requires master data to process the transportation planning and propose delivery/shipments for the SAP ECC system, which allows you to ship an order for a particular customer. In this chapter, we will learn about the master data that's required in SAP TMS to plan for goods to be transported. This includes organization data and general master data, products and business partners, the transportation network, and resources.
The following diagram shows the ECC master data and its equivalent data in SAP TMS. The data replication between the two systems is done using the Core Interface, similar to SAP APO:
