Finding and replacing styles
Sometimes when working, you just need a quick way to find content using a style. Maybe you want to change it manually or maybe you want to replace it with a different style. In this recipe, we will look at how to find and replace styles in your document quickly and easily.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1. You should be comfortable creating and applying paragraph styles as shown in the Creating paragraph styles recipe.
How to do it
In order to find and replace styles in InDesign, just follow these steps:
- Start by creating a new document with two paragraph styles called Header and Body Copy and two character styles called Char Style 1 and Char Style 2. In terms of the settings for these styles, I will go with the following, but feel free to use different values if you wish:
