Outputting to a print-ready PDF
While exporting your print-ready documents is a fairly straightforward process, it is important to get the steps right – failure to do so could seriously impact the quality of your printed documents. It is good practice to preflight your document before output and it is important to ensure that your document is output to the correct PDF standard, with the relevant settings applied.
In this recipe, we will run through the common things to check before going on to configure your document for output to a standards-compliant, print-ready PDF, all ready to hand over to your print service provider.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe in Chapter 1.
