Enhancing navigation with buttons
Buttons are a great way to enhance navigation within a document, allowing you to jump to specific pages, go forward or backward to the next or previous pages, and even jump to a particular anchor within a page.
In this recipe, we are going to add buttons to the parent pages, which will allow you to jump to the next or previous page from any page of the document. Additionally, we will look at how to customize the styling of these buttons, so they change when you hover over them with the mouse.
Getting ready
In order to complete this recipe, simply open InDesign on your system and create a new document with 12 pages, as shown in the Creating a new document recipe of Chapter 1. In this instance, we will disable Facing Pages and create the page using the Landscape orientation. A basic understanding of Parent Pages is also useful, as covered in Chapter 7.
