Monitoring networks using SNMP
Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a protocol for managing equipment within a network. It has been used to track the devices in networks and their performance, and vendors have adopted it as the standard for publishing related data. Even though in a public cloud environment the requirement for networking monitoring is minimal to nil, in a large-scale operational environment, setting up a colocation to connect to a customer or managing some physical network equipment internally is always possible. Plugging in that equipment to the existing Datadog platform could be handy, instead of rolling out a different monitoring solution for that.
