Linking files to e-mails
In Chapter 2, E-mailing Form Results we looked at attaching uploaded and "standard" files to e-mails, so there is no need to repeat that process here. Sometimes though what we want to do is to include a link to the file in an e-mail, so that the user can access it if they need it. This keeps e-mail size down and can be a useful technique to have in the kitbag.
Getting ready
We'll use the same small file upload form as we have in the last couple of recipes and we'll be linking to files uploaded to the images/stories/chronoforms
folder. (The same technique can be applied to any other folder - except those outside the Joomla! folder structure.)
How to do it...
1. We need an Email Setup for the form, something very simple will be enough, then we'll work in the Email Template. You'll need to save or apply the form to get ChronoForms to create the template. When you reopen the Email Template tab you should see something dramatic like this:
