Chapter 10. Modeling Organic Forms, Sea, and Terrain
In the last chapter, you created several possible names for your sloop. Choosing font, letter spacing, extrusion, Bezier curves, and beveling, you made it look sharp. Then you finished off the sloop. You added the boom, mast, spar, bowsprit, gaff, rudder, tiller, keel, and ship's wheel that you made. You learned how to create a local axis for motion that is not on the global X, Y, and Z axes. You added the bonus sails, line, a door, and a detailed window for the portal in the download pack.
This chapter will help you create a world for the sloop and the boat. You'll learn a lot of cool new ways to model. You will be:
Using texturing to create an oceanic surface
Using the ANT Landscape add-on to create an island
Using proportional editing to finalize the land form
Using Blender Paint to color the land form
Creating an entire pier with just four objects using arrays, DupliFrames and bevel objects
Making trees with the Sapling tree generator add...
