Network connectivity


There are various ways to establish a network connection. The method of connectivity varies based on the network size and the devices it connects to. The connectivity can be different types of wired connections or different technologies used in wireless connection. We will discuss some in detail in the subsequent sections.

Wired

In this type of setup, computers are connected to each other by means of a hard wire, which is commonly known as an Ethernet cable. In the basic configuration of this type of setup, one end of the Ethernet cable will connect to a computer and the other end will connect to a router or a switch. All available computers connect to a switch or router in a similar fashion to form a network. This is a typical example of a local area network. 

Wireless
