Understanding Clip Gain and Pan versus Volume and Pan Automation
While the title of this section sounds complicated, this section is simply about understanding that the Clip setting of the Audio Mixer affects Segments in their entirety, while the Auto setting allows you to place keyframes within a Segment to affect portions of a segment differently.
You may find it helpful to first review the previous sections in this chapter that provide an overview of the Audio Mixer.
How to do it...
Open the Audio Mixer with any of the following methods:
Tools Menu | Audio Mixer.
Windows | Workspaces | Audio Editing.
Consider mapping the Audio Mixer menu selection to a convenient location on your keyboard. For example, I've placed this on Shift + A. For more information, go through Mapping buttons and menu selections recipe in Chapter 2, Customizing Your Work Environment.
Click the Audio Mixer Mode button so that it displays the text Clip or Auto.
