Summary
In this chapter, we explored the tools needed in professional publishing. We learned about color models for paper printing and screen display. The Output Preview tool found potential problems related to ink use and coverage. We then converted color using Ink Manager. Reviewing Acrobat Distiller gave us a deeper look into the content and settings of a .pdf
file before it is sent for commercial printing. Finally, we learned about the Preflight tool, which alerts us about any potential issues and offers us the possibility to correct some of those issues before printing.
The next chapter will introduce us to redacting options to preserve the privacy of documents that may need to be publicly available, and Bates numbering options. We will explore features that support a law office.
