Using a Blender Sky Texture node to light our environment
The Sky Texture or Sky Box is a node provided by Blender that adds procedural sky lighting to our scene. To set it up, let’s perform these actions:
- Go to the World Properties panel, represented by a globe icon.
- Click on the yellow dot next to Color.
- Choose Sky Texture from the Texture list:

- Turn off the Transparent feature in the Render Properties that we enabled earlier.
Now if you jump into the Rendered mode, you will see some nice lighting with a beautiful blue sky in the background:

Keep in mind that the Sky Texture comes with its own sun, so if you already have a sun light in the scene just delete it.
