Installing applications and the View Agent


Before we install the View Agent, now is the time to install any applications that you want to include in your base image. These would be applications that every user needs access to, so applications such as Adobe Reader or the base level of Microsoft Office can be installed.

Once we have finished installing our applications, we can install the View Agent.

Browse the location where you have the View Agent. In our example lab, this file is in the \\hzn6-dc1\Shared Folder\View 6.0 shared folder.

Launch the installer and perform the following steps:

  1. On the Welcome to the Installation Wizard for VMware Horizon View Agent screen, click on Next > to continue.

  2. Click on the radio button for I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click on Next >.

  3. You will now see the Custom Setup screen, where you can choose which features are to be installed on the virtual desktop machine, as shown in the following screenshot:
