Mapping your approach
Mapping your course materials to your learning objectives will help you avoid creating a course that confuses students, and it will help them achieve their learning goals.
The best sequence for mapping is to follow a simple workflow, depicted as follows:
- Identify your learning objectives
- Create course sequence (chapters or units)
- Write the specific learning goals for each chapter or unit, and tie them to your main learning objectives
- For each unit or chapter, you'll have the following:
- Chapter learning outcomes (tied to overall learning objectives)
- Course content (directly ties to learning goals)
- Activities (should be measurable and tie directly to your chapter outcomes)
