Adding an announcement to a Team Site
SharePoint includes an announcements list, specially designed to allow you to post announcements and news articles to your site. This recipe shows you how easy it is to make use of it.

Office 365 (SharePoint Online)
This recipe uses a SharePoint 2010 Team Site for illustration. A Team Site already contains an announcement list, though it is not shown on its pages by default. This recipe first shows you how to add the announcements web part to the Team Site home page and then how to add new announcements to be displayed.
To add the announcements web part to the home page, you will need to have Design or Full Control permission level. To add an announcement to an existing announcements list you will need the Contribute permission level.
