Evaluating Teams
Microsoft Teams is the collaboration hub that brings together many Office 365 services, integrating internal content, tools, and external data into a single interface. Unlike Exchange or SharePoint, Teams is cloud-only and doesn't have an on-premises counterpart. It's an all-new service that builds on familiar services such as Exchange, Skype for Business, and SharePoint as well as new constructs and services such as Microsoft 365 Groups and Planner.
In the previous chapter, we introduced Teams and its core features, such as chat, meetings, calls, connectors, bots, and file sharing. Microsoft Teams works with a core Office 365 architectural component, Microsoft 365 Groups, and stores content in both Exchange Online and SPO. In the rest of this section, we'll look at how Teams, Exchange Online, and SPO work together to provide the optimal Teams experience.
