In this chapter, we learned about the controllers available within Rockwell Automation's Integrated Architecture. We now have an understanding of the controller solutions available within Integrated Architecture and are capable of selecting components for a ControlLogix solution. Furthermore, we explored the physical features and diagnostic information available on the ControlLogix cards and investigated the evolution of the platform's firmware. Finally, we touched on the differences between the traditional synchronous PLC scan and the Logix asynchronous operating cycle.
In the next chapter, we will introduce the CompactLogix series of controllers, just as we covered the ControlLogix series in this chapter.
