Technical requirements

This chapter requires a working Azure AD tenant with at least an Azure AD Premium P1 or trial subscription. The account used for this chapter must belong to one of the following roles: Cloud Application Administrator, Global Administrator, or Application Administrator.

If your company does not have a Microsoft Azure subscription, a trial one can be created at https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/free/. Another option (used in this book) is to create a Microsoft developer account at https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/dev-program.

For Duo integration, a Duo account with administrative privileges is needed. A free trial is available at https://signup.duo.com/ if required.

If your company already has an Azure AD tenant, feel free to skip this section. Otherwise, let’s see how to configure an Azure AD tenant with a few users to use for the rest of the chapter.
