Chapter 4. Portal Architecture: Analysis and Design

This chapter covers another iterative step in a development lifecycle. It is time to take a look at the requirements and exercise architectural analysis and design for both the functional and nonfunctional aspects, as they are mapped to portal capabilities. We will cover how to create a wireframe to understand information architecture of portal pages' navigational flow and also to map the Portal Object Model (POM) to service and data layer. We will also cover the macro view of aspects of portal's functional and nonfunctional architecture. By the end of this chapter, we should have looked at the following:
