Configuring Applications to Use Kubernetes Features

The last chapter demonstrated how to work with a containerized Windows application in Kubernetes—now, we are going to extend our voting application to use more advanced features which make the orchestration even more robust and automated. Over the years, Kubernetes has been extended with a growing number of features, ranging from fine-grained Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) or Secrets management to autoscaling using Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA), the holy grail of container orchestration. Of course, we are not able to cover all of them in the scope of this book, but we are going to include the most useful features that help running containerized Windows applications.
