Reservation exchange and cancellation
As we looked at in the previous section, if you find that reservations you have purchased are not being utilized as anticipated, then you can decide to exchange the reservation for a like-to-like new reservation or decide to cancel it.
Exchange reservations
Azure reservations provide flexibility to meet your changing needs. Reservations are interchangeable for the same type of reservation. During an exchange, you can change the SKU, Region, scope, and term. For example, you can exchange a reservation for SQL Managed Instance in East US with SQL Elastic Pool in West US. Note, however, that you cannot exchange a SQL reservation with a VM reservation.
To exchange a reservation, follow these steps:
- Go to the Reservations screen and click on Exchange:
