15.9 Quantum machine learning
As I write this, “quantum machine learning” is in the early stages of theory, research, and development. Why are we interested in techniques connecting quantum computing and AI?
As we have seen in this chapter, machine learning involves significant mathematical computation. We believe that when quantum computers get large and powerful enough, they may perform some essential AI calculations much faster than we can now.
Next, we double the dimension of our quantum computational space every time we add a qubit because of entanglement. If we have 10 qubits, the dimension of the space in which the quantum states reside is 210 = 1,024.
